![]() The tension continuously built up but personally I felt that the ending was a little anticlimactic. The ending just like the opening was very fast paced and I was sitting at the edge of my seat for majority of it. Overall I think that the plot was executed exceptionally well, especially the introduction however the middle of the series of a bit lackluster. This is also where majority of the character development takes place with Nezumi and Shion living together and slowly learning bits and pieces about each other. They also started to slowly piece together the missing pieces of the puzzle of the truth behind No.6. I suppose that it was probably because Shion saved Nezumi’s life four years ago but who actually continues stalking ones saviour just to pay back the favour.Īfter escaping No.6 together, the pacing of the story slows down and this where we see Nezumi and Shion develop as characters together. This part of the story to me could’ve been executed much better as it was weird for Nezumi to just suddenly appear out of nowhere to save the life of a boy he barely knew. It is also at this time that we see Shion being affected by the same parasite but he luckily survives but is left with everlasting side effects of white hair and a red snake like scar coiling around his body. Whilst under arrest, Nezumi suddenly appears out of nowhere and comes to rescue Shion and takes him outside the walls of No.6 and shows him the real world. He is arrested as a suspect for his coworker’s death but I believe that it is actually because he knows too much and is already questioning the authorities of No.6. Whilst at work, Shion experiences a weird phenomenon where his coworkers suddenly ages and dies, he learns that it is because of a mysterious parasite and a wasp emerges out of the person's neck once dead. So it kinda got my hopes up a little bit for the show only for me to be a little disappointed.Īfter the first episode, a four year time skip took place which to me was a bit odd, but it didn't affect the story significantly. ![]() This is also why I think that the pacing of the story was not the best, the first couple of episodes were very fast paced whilst the episodes in the middle of the series weren't as fast. All of this happened so fast that it even felt like a dream to us viewers. Shion was stripped of his elite-citizenship and forced to go back and live with his mother. We were also introduced to another boy named Nezumi, a wanted fugitive, who entered Shion's perfect life and basically ruins it. The first couple of episodes introduced us to the premise of the story amazingly, with it first introducing to us the seemingly perfect city called No.6 that the protagonist Shion lives in. ![]() I really liked the way that the story was explained to us especially the first couple of episodes where we were not only introduced to the characters but also the setting of the anime. Its plot development was also done very well, and it was quite difficult to guess the ending and piece together the puzzle behind our computer screens. Seems pretty common, but No.6 definitely did not fail to deliver. A futuristic seemingly utopian setting with a protagonist who lived the ideal life but one day another boy barged in and changed his life forever. When I first watched No.6 about 4 years ago, the plot seemed very different and interesting but now that I think about it it's not a completely original idea. Now, a long time after their life-altering first meeting, Shion and Nezumi are finally brought together once again-the former elite and the boy on the run are about to embark on an adventure that will, in time, reveal the shattering secrets of No. But despite knowing that the other boy was a fugitive, Shion decided to take him in for the night and protect him, which resulted in drastic consequences: because of his actions, Shion and his mother lost their status as elites and were relocated elsewhere, and the darker side of the city began to make itself known. Nezumi turned out to be just one of many who lived in the desolate wasteland beyond the walls of the supposed utopia. 6-gained a new perspective on the world he lives in, thanks to a chance encounter with a mysterious boy, Nezumi. ![]() However, Shion-an elite resident of the city-state No. Many years ago, after the end of a bloody world war, mankind took shelter in six city-states that were peaceful and perfect.
